In business since 1946
A page of history written by Lucie Tassé, General Manager
We are extremely proud to have celebrate, in 2006, the company’s 60 years in business. My father is 82 years young, always present and active in our offices located on des Flandres St.; every morning, from Monday to Friday, my father salutes individually every member of the administrative staff. My father is this man with a big heart who takes time to recognize the human and professional value of his employees. In his early childhood, my father had a life plan, from which he never deviated. To realize his plan, he adopted a definite mission and precise goals and objectives. A true believer, he always put the emphasis on family values and his relations with God.
But my father is also a relentless businessman and builder who now owns over 1 000 residential dwellings and 8 commercial buildings. His father, Philippe Tassé, taught him the three keys to success. My father always told me « If you want to fully develop your potential, you must first work for yourself, then you must work hard and finally and most importantly, when you make a dollar, invest 50 cents ». I listened to him and I never regretted it!
If financial liberty has been an important life project for my father, concern for others has also been just as important; he often mentions that his professional life was extremely enriching because of his implication in the business world as well in the community, which explains why the company financially and voluntarily supports numerous organizations. My father has received many awards over time; on October 1st, 2004, he received from the University of Ottawa where he completed his studies in business administration in 1944, the Dean’s Philos Award, in recognition of his lifetime of philanthropic achievement and social commitment,.
Over all those years in the business world, my father spent 45 years in the food industry, as he is a spirited grocer. Incidentally, he’ll never forget his very first sale in 1946, three black balls for a penny, in his first store on Fortier St. In Hull! Since then, from real property acquisitions to construction projects, Les Immeubles E. Tassé has become a force in the Ottawa Valley, with a tradition of dedication and excellence.
Honouring Les Immeubles E. Tassé’s 63 years in business is primarily a recognition of the value of a businessman with a big heart, that of my father Eugène Tassé.
